The April 26th Leaving Religion Discuss Group will be held on Google Hangouts. Please send me your email address via private message in Meetup if you would like to attend.
Many people today are experiencing either a change in their religious beliefs or have left religion altogether. This often results in a loss of close relationships. Know that you are not alone.
Discovering how to live after leaving religion or changing beliefs is a journey. Even though you may be experiencing more freedom, and you know that it was the right thing for you, it doesn’t mean it has been easy.
This meet-up is designed to provide a welcoming place for each person to share feelings, thoughts and stories for a few minutes, or to simply listen to others.
This is not meant to be a support, counseling or therapy group. We are meeting and talking to others who have gone through similar experiences which can be healing or comforting. You’ll meet former believers who are now atheists, agnostics or not sure what they are.
Based on our last discussion, we will address the topic of what it means for something to be scientifically based. How can we use science and logical reasoning to evaluate claims?
