Dr Ed Martin serves as Director of the Maricopa County Cooperative Extension and is a faculty member in the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Department where his responsibilities lie mainly in the area of agricultural irrigation. Much of his work deals with irrigation water management, crop water use and irrigation scheduling at the field level.
Maricopa County Cooperative Extension is part of the University of Arizona and part of a nationwide system of education and research professionals that bring research-based information to address issues in communities throughout the United States.
Dr Martin will give a general description of their programs and then delve deeper into those programs that directly impact our environment. These include agriculture, natural resources, and horticulture.
Dr Martin will also discuss activities and programs geared towards youth development and nutrition.
Maricopa County Cooperative Extension has many opportunities for engagement and life-long education.
