Ron Russell will be sharing aspects of Buddhism that are accessible to non-religious people.

From philosophy to recent neuroscience and cognitive research, Buddhism has an rich history and practices in mindfulness and meditation that have growing scientific support for their efficacy in emotional regulation and mind/body awareness.

Ron Russell is a Zen Buddhist of 13 years and 2000 hours of practice who focuses on bringing scientifically validated mindfulness and meditation practices to humans who don’t care for all the “mumbo-jumbo”.  He is also a Hospice of the Valley volunteer, is attempting to teach meditation to video gamers and is one off the Arizona regional contacts for Burning Man.

The meeting is free and open to the public. Doors open at 9:00 am for socializing with an optional Continental breakfast available for a $5 donation. The meeting begins at 10:00 am.

A Children's Program is available during the Speaker Meeting. Please see the HSGP Meetup for the Children's Program at this meeting for more information and to RSVP with the number of children attending.
