Humanities Project Monthly Cultural Presentation & Meeting

From Black Sabbath's first notes, Metal has received backlash from parents, religious groups, politicians, and con men looking to make a quick buck. It has also faced being banned, criticized and censored, and even backlash from metal fans.

Join Christina as she shares with us the history of censorship of metal music, as well as some science looking at the effect on the fans who listen to extreme Metal.

This installment will explore censorship and extreme types of metal, as well as the fans who love these various subgenres. Buckle up, its going to be a bumpy ride.

The HSGP Humanities Project holds free and open meetings on the 2nd Friday of each month at 7pm at HCC. The majority of the evening is given over to one or more of our HSGP members or guests, to share with us some aspect of arts & humanities that they are passionate about!

We are committed to bringing outstanding people from the world of humanities to present to HSGP at least once per year at the Sunday Speaker Meetings.
