Like other government agencies, the importance of public health is easy to overlook because it operates so well.

During the 20th Century, 25 of the 30 years added to the average life expectancy can be attributed to public health and its policies. Join our conversation with Will Humble, current Executive Director for the Arizona Public Health Association and former Director of the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS), who will explain how this increase in life expectancy was accomplished and what we can do to ensure Public Health’s continued success as its funding continues to decline.

Will Humble's 30 years in public health include more than 2 decades at the Arizona Department of Health Services, where he served in various capacities. He served as the Agency Director from 2009 to 2015. Most recently, he served as a health policy director at the University of Arizona from 2015 to 2017. He continues to be involved in health policy in his role with AzPHA and as Adjunct Faculty with The University of Arizona's Mel & Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health.

Mr. Humble strongly believes in the use of evidence-based health policy as a means to improving health outcomes. He strives to lead and manage with emotional intelligence.
