This discussion group will be on Google Meet. The link will be posted here 15 minutes prior to the start of the event.
Many people today are experiencing either a change in their religious beliefs or have left religion altogether. This often results in a loss of close relationships. Know that you are not alone. This meet-up is designed to provide a welcoming place for each person to share feelings, thoughts, and stories, or to simply listen to others.
This is not meant to be a support, counseling, or therapy group. We are meeting and talking to others who have gone through similar experiences, which can be healing or comforting. You’ll meet former believers who are now atheists, agnostics or not sure what they are.
The topic for December's meeting is: How to cope with religious family during the holidays and how to create your own secular traditions now that you have left religion. For reference, HSGP had a Sunday speaker last year who talked about secular celebrations:
Humanist Celebrations and Blessings Presented by Jeffrey Schesnol
Limit 12 people
We meet 90 minutes once a month at the Humanist Society of Greater Phoenix (Google Meet for now). Humanism is a secular philosophy that encourages critical thinking and ethics.
Let’s enjoy some great conversation and get to know some awesome people. Join us.
