Sunday Speaker: Aishin Leonard, Transforming Overwhelm and Trauma into Flourishing and Well Being

Join Aishin Leonard, a Somatic Experiencing trauma expert and mindfulness teacher for a view of how adverse experiences activate the nervous system, and how to transform that into well being.

Everyone experiences challenging adverse events that are overwhelming. Sometimes, the overwhelm of these events stay in our body and nervous system. We can experience a persistent state of activation (hyper-vigilance, anxiety, agitation, anger), or even shut-down, fogginess and disassociation.

Often, we think we’ve “gotten over” a challenge, only to find our minds replay the event over and over—or constantly feel unsafe—and "not like ourselves”.

Join Aishin to learn how adverse events effect the nervous system, the symptoms of a nervous system experiencing disregulation, and how trauma-informed embodiment practices help recover wellbeing—especially in our post-COVID world.
