Some of what Doug will discuss is from his most recent book, "Solving Modern Problems with a Stone-Age Brain: Human Evolution and the 7 Fundamental Motives, " written with his son David Lundberg-Kenrick. They spoke to HSGP about the idea several years ago, when they were still in book proposal mode. The book has since been written, published by the American Psychological Association, and won last year’s best book award from the Society for Personality and Social Psychology.
Bio:
Douglas T. Kenrick is president’s professor at Arizona State University, whose research integrates ideas from evolutionary biology, anthropology, and social psychology. He has written several books, including Sex, Murder, and the Meaning of Life (2010) ; The Rational Animal (2013), and Solving Modern Problems with a Stone-Age Brain (2022). His text Social Psychology: Goals in Interaction (with Neuberg, Cialdini & Lundberg-Kenrick) is now in its 7th edition. He has also published in Scientific American, New York Times, Psychology Today and Fortune, and authors a blog titled Sex, Murder, and the Meaning of Life.
