Ways to Support HSGP

Overview

Choose one of the many ways you can help HSGP meet its financial needs now and in the future.

Donate Money or Other Assets Now

You can donate money online here.

It’s really easy to drop cash into the donation container or to write a check and hand to the HSGP Treasurer.

If you prefer to transfer funds using PayPal, you can do that too. HSGP’s email address on PayPal is pay2hsgp@hsgp.org.

We now have a PayPal Giving account which takes out zero fees from your donation. (If you would like your donation directed to a specific project, please drop a note to the Treasurer.)  https://www.paypal.com/fundraiser/charity/1402271

Another option to painlessly donate is to set up a monthly recurring donation directly from your checking account.  Contact the HSGP Treasurer for instructions.

If you have financial instruments such as stocks or annuities that you would like to donate, consult with your financial advisor on the best way to transfer the value to HSGP.

You can specify how you wish the funds to be used if you so desire.  HSGP has a general fund used for on-going needs as well as specific budget items that you may be interested in supporting.  We also have an endowment fund to be used for special purposes as required in the future.

Remember HSGP in Your Estate Planning

You may wish to consult with your estate planner or other financial advisor on the best way to remember HSGP in your estate plans.

eBay Seller Donations

HSGP is an approved charity on eBay, and when you create a listing to sell something there, you can designate HSGP to receive a portion of the gross amount of your item’s final selling price.  You can select anywhere from 10 to 100 percent to donate to HSGP, and eBay will reduce your final value fees in proportion to the donation percentage.  eBay handles the donations and passes the money to HSGP monthly.

If you don’t see the eBay for Charity option on your item listing creation page, select Customize near the top right hand side of that page, and then tick the box to enable the charity option to appear.

After you tick the box to make a donation, a list will appear of suggested charities. You can click the link to “select another nonprofit” if needed, and then search for “HSGP”.

Here is the link to eBay’s Charity Donation Help & FAQ page: https://www.charity.ebay.com/help/seller.

If you need help or have further questions, feel free to contact Roger Blain.

Patreon

Patreon provides an easy way to support your favorite artists and creators, by making monthly donations. HSGP is raising funds to improve our audio/video capabilities so that we can create more engaging online content. If you’re new to Patreon, it is easy to create an account, select people and organizations to support, and set your desired donation amount.  Then on the first of each month, Patreon charges your payment method only once, and then sends the money to everyone you are supporting.  HSGP’s Patreon page is here: HSGP on Patreon

Enroll in an Affiliate Program (Which costs you nothing!)

What the heck is an affiliate program? When you sign up for these programs, the organization will donate a portion of the sale’s proceeds to HSGP. It doesn’t cost you anything but a few minutes of your time and it makes a huge difference. This money goes to keeping the organization funded and allows the programs you love and enjoy to continue and improve.

Bashas’

If you shop at any of the Bashas’ Stores, you can participate in Bashas’ Grocery Stores  Community Gift Card program

The Bashas’ program works through the use of gift cards that are tied to HSGP.  You will need to pre-pay or load the gift card before using it to pay for purchases.  You can add funds to the gift card in any amount and as often as you wish.  These cards can be used at Bashas’, Food City and AJ’s stores.  (Note: These gift cards are not the same as your Bashas’ Thank You card.)

Enroll

Bashas’ gift cards already tied to HSGP are available on the bulletin board at the rear of the Humanist Community Center.  Note that these cards have a zero balance and you will need to add money to the card before using it.

How to use it

When you need to add to your gift card balance, just load (prepay) the card at the register.  It is important to do this before the checker starts to ring up your purchases.

HSGP earns 6% of your total amount loaded onto the gift card and HSGP gets paid monthly from this program.

Fry’s Community Rewards Program

Fry’s will donate a percentage of your shopping bill to HSGP if you are enrolled in this program and use your Fry’s VIP card with your purchases. What an easy way to help out HSGP!

Enroll

  1. If you do not already have a Fry’s VIP card, sign up for one at the customer service desk or at the register.
  2. Go to frysfood.com
  3. Create a Fry’s V.I.P. online account if you don’t already have one.
  4. Go to the Community Rewards Enrollment page
  5. Enter HSGP’s Community ID: 80566 or just search for “Humanist”
  6. Select HSGP from the results

How to use it

Just be sure to use your Fry’s card with every purchase and that’s it! HSGP will get the donation. Thank you for being awesome!

HSGP Humanities Project Fundraiser: Books & Music Bookshelf

HSGP’s Humanities Project has a Book & Music Bookshelf for your convenient shopping pleasure. Books, CDs and DVDs on the bookshelf are for sale at a great price. The deals are even better on the 2-for-a-dollar bottom shelf. The Bookshelf is located under the bulletin board near the entrance to the restrooms.

The prices on these items are so great that some folks are using it like a rental library: They buy a book for a super-cheap price, read it, and bring it back as a donation. The book goes up for sale again, and they “buy” another one! Cool!

Take a look at the Bookshelf next time you’re at the Humanist Community Center and consider buying or donating to this fun new effort. hp-bookshelf

Support Businesses that Support HSGP

We have many Humanist-friendly businesses where you can spend your dollars wisely. Check them out on our Humanist Business listing page.

We are looking for other business people who might be interested in increasing their sales and then giving back to the Humanists.  If you have an interest in a business, consider if you would like to offer a way to increase your business and support HSGP.
