Service and Participation Director’s Description

The Service and Participation Director is responsible for putting humanist values into action in ways that positively impact our communities and society as a whole. They foster helping others, increasing social awareness, and enhancing accountability.

In addition to driving the direction of the organization, the Service and Participation Director is also responsible for:

  • Inspiring the board and membership to be leaders and take ownership of planning events, creating task forces and special projects, and hosting regular programs.

  • Directing community service initiatives to improve the quality of life for our neighbors.

  • Developing coalition relationships and expanding the community throughout the Greater Phoenix area.

  • Identifying HSGP members as potential candidates for Board of Directors chair and co-chair positions, board committees, and other special committees.

  • Leading a Service and Participation Committee to help with these responsibilities.
