Sunday Speaker: Kate Fisher & Clayton Davenport: one-n-ten – Empowering Future Generations

Why are LGBTQ+ youth hesitant to seek support through religion? How can you be an ally?

one•n•ten envisions a world where all LGBTQ+ youth and young adults are embraced for who they are, actively engaged in their communities, and empowered to lead.

Is it a behavior or an identity? How can our society better reflect the diversity of our human identities? How you can inspire a culture of diversity. Discrimination veiled as religious freedom promotes dangerous practices like conversion therapy, harming the mental health, self-expression, and identity of LGBTQ+ youth. How can religious groups create a safe space for LGBTQ youth and young adults?

Clayton Davenport is the Director of Development & Marketing for one•n•ten. Raised in Oregon on a farm in a small town, Clayton always knew his cowboy boots needed a few more rhinestones. After graduating college, he moved to San Diego, where he spent 11 years working for JPMorgan Chase until moving to Denver Co in 2011. Volunteering with the Center on Colfax, Denver’s LGBTQ Community Center, led him to his 10-year career in LGBTQ fundraising and development. Clayton has raised an excess of $10m to support LGBTQ organizations like the Center on Colfax, Phoenix Pride, and one•n•ten. When he isn’t raising critical funds to support the LGBTQ+ community, you can find Clayton and his husband out in nature with their two dogs. They are avid hikers, campers, and 4x4 enthusiasts. Recently Clayton & Chris completed their foster and adoption licensing and are working on expanding their family.

Kate Fisher (she/her) is a seasoned sales professional and trusted advisor with Oracle Corp enabling her clients business success with Cloud infrastructure solutions. Kate is also a dynamic, engaging leader and speaker for the LGBTQ+ community, empowering others to embrace vulnerability and thrive in their personal story. She is skilled at and motivated to develop authentic leaders that lead from their strengths. Kate is active in building safe inclusive workplace environments that value, promote and recruit diverse talent as a global co-chair for the OPEN (Oracle Pride Employee Network), Oracle Corp’s LGBTQ+ employee resource group. Kate is also the treasurer for the Arizona border region chapter of the Sports Car Club of America and a 3-time SCCA Solo autocross national champion.
