Film Screening & Panel Discussion

Join Arizona PBS for a community screening of On Two Fronts: Latinos & Vietnam, followed by a panel discussion featuring filmmaker Mylène Moreno and the documentary subjects.

Saturday, September 12, 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
First Amendment Forum (2nd floor)
Walter Cronkite School of Journalism on the ASU Downtown Phoenix Campus
555 North Central Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85004

In addition, Arizona PBS will be debuting the commemorative "big map" at this event — a large floor map of the theater of war in Southeast Asia. To honor the service of Vietnam veterans in Arizona, veterans are invited to view the map, reflect on their experiences and, if they choose, sign their names and/or write personal messages.

The screening is open to the public and free of charge. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP at azpbs.org/ontwofronts.

On Two Fronts: Latinos & Vietnam by director Mylène Moreno explores the rich history of Latino service in the Vietnam War, and invites all Americans to honor the contributions and sacrifices made by Latino soldiers and their families in a war that defined a generation.

Latino Americans have made profound contributions to American life in many unique and important ways. Latinos' sense of patriotism as Americans is robust, but has been too often overlooked in our society. Many Latinos have served their country in visible ways, even making the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our national cause.

On Two Fronts also encourages us to look again at the way all of our soldiers were drawn into the Vietnam War and how they returned, and to appreciate the service of veterans who have more recently returned from wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Meet Jennifer on the 2nd floor by the entrance to the First Amendment Forum a few minutes before the film begins so we can sit together.
