Save Our Schools: Fact-based and non-partisan, this presentation covers the importance of strong public schools to a strong state economy, as well as the ways that privatization has siphoned funds our schools desperately need.

In spite of what might be considered a substantial pay increase after the rise in the Red for Ed movement and the teacher strikes in 2018, educators across the State of Arizona are still challenging Arizona’s public school policy and its administration. While our public schools have been forced to accomplish more with less, those interested in privatizing education have successfully diverted hundreds of millions of dollars from state coffers to private and religious schools.

Please be sure to join us and three dedicated public school educators from Save Our Schools AZ Education Roadshow. Our speakers, Cathy Sigmon, Hayley Stenger, and Michelle Capriotti have nearly 50 years of experience between them. SOSAZ is a community-based, grassroots, non-partisan organization fighting for strong public schools for a stronger Arizona. They will discuss the ongoing challenges that Educators still face in their efforts to improve public education for all students residing in Arizona. This roadshow will conclude with a discussion of positive actions that citizens can take to support and reinforce the value of public education in their communities.

You can also connect with Save Our Schools Arizona at sosarizona.org and ask to be added to their mailing list to receive weekly Legislative Updates during the legislative session. As a volunteer, grassroots organization, SOSAZ needs the support and involvement of all concerned individuals who believe that strong schools make a strong state.

The meeting is free and open to the public. Doors open at 9:00 am for socializing with an optional Continental breakfast available for a $5 donation. The meeting begins at 10:00 am.

A Children's Program is available during the Speaker Meeting. Please see the HSGP Meetup for the Children's Program at this meeting for more information and to RSVP with the number of children attending. Click here: Childrens' Program Meetup
