Humanism, Trans Identity, and Growth in Community

Weaving together humanist tenets, experiences as a trans individual, and the empowering effect of community, James tells his story of growth and the important place our community played in it.

What moments sparked the most transformation and growth in your life? Can you point to the lessons you learned? For James, coming out as transgender and coming to our Humanist Center were some of those defining moments, and the lessons both these disparate things taught were remarkably similar. Weaving together humanist tenets, experiences as a trans individual, and the empowering effect of community, James tells his story of growth and the important place our community played in it.

The meeting is free and open to the public. Doors open at 9:00 am for socializing with an optional Continental breakfast available for a $5 donation. The meeting begins at 10:00 am.

A Children's Program is available during the Speaker Meeting. Please see the HSGP Meetup for the Children's Program at this meeting for more information and to RSVP with the number of children attending.
